Internet access willing we should be posting some images and updates.

But we would love to meet up with anyone that wishes to try either the Phase One camera
or the Cambo system.

Please get in contact so we can try to arrange a visit to your location.

How should you frame a photograph

posted by Sean / 0 comments

There are many considerations when framing a photography and not really any specific formulae that can be applied that works in every case.
The best thing to have is a good framer who can work with you to select the options for each specific image. We use Mark Moore from Papakura Picture framers who is excellent (and patient) when helping sort through all the options.

But in a a response to a readers question, Mike Johnston posted these two articles with some more information.

A new solution from ALPA which provides a technical camera with an accurate electronic shutter that accepts a range of lenses from 35mm to large format.
Very interesting development and a great partner for an IQ180 digital back.

Check out the review by Mark Dubovoy at Luminous Landscape.

John Crawford Birds Eye Nudes

posted by Sean / 0 comments

Fstoppers features an article about New Zealands John Crawford and his birds eye nudes.

Auckland based photog John Crawford has come up with a really interesting view on nude photography, aerial nudes. John’s use of composition and space in this series is what really draws attention to it. It is nude art done in a way that we wouldn’t typically expect to see it, and it is quite refreshing to see a new take on such an ancient form of artistic expression. Enjoy!

Drew Gardner tries the new Schnieder 28mm Leaf Shutter and 240 mm Lens from Phase One

Hands on and samples from the Phase One 28mm and 240mm LS lenses (by Drew Gardner)

I was fortunate enough to get some hands on and real world experience with the 28mm and 240mm LS lenses, the two latest pieces in the jigsaw puzzle from Phase One.

One that I knew I wanted and had been hoping they would make, the other a lens which I did not know I wanted until I used it.

In my forest series I have often used the quite brilliant 28mm F4.5 lens which is very sharp and remarkably little distortion. Importantly it gives full coverage of Phase One’s biggest sensors, which is not the case with Hasselblad’s offering, and played a small but significant part in my switch to Phase One a few years back …
